Market Day Program for Low Class: Improving Independent Character Education at Elementary School

One of the central issues currently being discussed in world education is character education. Character experiencing disorientation, fading Pancasila values, and shifting life values as a result globalization. This means that needs to be instilled from an early age, especially elementary schools, one which independent The aims this study are analyze implementation strengthening through "market day" for low grade students schools. research uses descriptive qualitative with phenomenological design. methods used observation, interviews, documentation. validity data using triangulation sources techniques. Data analysis techniques include collection, reduction, presentation, inference verification. results showed market day program there were 3 stages, namely planning by holding monthly meetings school form management team, stage starting preparing goods stands, selling merchandise bookkeeping evaluation once week monitor development student independence. 5 indicators including doing their own work, taking initiative, not giving up, self-confidence self-satisfaction, all fulfilled indicated was successful able strengthen low-grade very good category.
